
Governor Pays Tribute to Baba Banda Singh Bahadur and Bhagwan Birsa Munda on Their Martyrdom Day
Chandigarh, June 9 - Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatreya today paid tribute to two great heroes of Indian history, Baba Banda Singh Bahadur and Bhagwan Birsa Munda, on their martyrdom day. He recalled their courageous struggle against oppression and their ultimate sacrifice for social justice.

The Governor said that today we honor the extraordinary courage and sacrifice of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur, who laid the foundation for justice and self-governance in Punjab and stood firm against the atrocities of the Mughals. His unwavering commitment to faith and his supreme sacrifice will continue to inspire generations.
Shri Dattatreya also remembered the contributions of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, who led tribal communities against British rule. He said that Birsa Munda’s fearless struggle and his vision of an egalitarian society are a symbol of India’s cultural heritage and tribal pride. His legacy teaches us the lesson of social empowerment and unity.
