Chandigarh, July 31 - Haryana's Minister of State for Sports Mr. Gaurav Gautam said that due to the excellent sports policy of the state and winning medals in every national and international sports competition, Haryana has become the leader of the country in sports. The country's independence is 150 crore, in which the population of Haryana is only 2 percent, while the players of the state contribute 60 percent in winning medals in international level sports competitions. Taking forward the tradition of these games, the Khel Mahakumbh, 2025 is being started in the state in two phases from August 2.

In which 15410 players from 26 districts are participating. Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini is inaugurating this event on August 2 at Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Panchkula as the chief guest. In the first phase, the games of the Khel Mahakumbh will be organized till August 4. This is the first time in this state-level event in the state that the Khel Mahakumbh is being given the form of a grand ceremony, which will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister of the state.
Giving details of the Khel Mahakumbh event in his office in Chandigarh, Sports Minister Shri Gaurav Gautam said in a press conference at the Civil Secretariat today that it is a matter of pride for us that some player from Haryana has won a medal in the last 5 Olympic Games held in the last 17 years. Our players have made the country proud by winning 15 medals in the last five Olympic Games.

26 games will be organized at 4 locations
He said that 26 games will be organized at 4 locations in the state. Athletics, badminton, basketball, handball and hockey will be organized in Panchkula, shooting and taekwondo in Faridabad, boxing, netball and football in Rohtak and lawn tennis in Sonepat, in which players from 22 districts of the state and Haryana Sports University Rai (Sonepat) will show their talent.
In the Sports Mahakumbh, 2102 medals will be awarded to the players in both the phases. 836 medals will be given to the winning players in the first phase and 1266 medals in the second phase. The second phase games will be held in the last week of August.

The Sports Mahakumbh is one of the biggest competitions in the country
The Sports Minister said that Haryana's Sports Mahakumbh is going to be a bigger event than any national level competition in the country. About 8000 players participate in the India Youth Games organized by the Sports Authority of India, while more than 15000 players will participate in the Khel Mahakumbh.

There will be excellent food and drink arrangements for the players
Sports Minister Mr. Gaurav Gautam said that the selection of players from the districts participating in the Khel Mahakumbh has been made fair under the supervision of the District Sports Officers. The players will not be allowed to face any kind of inconvenience during the competition. Arrangements for food and drink and kits have been made for them.
For the successful organization of the games, a special coordination committee has been formed under the leadership of the Additional Sports Director on the orders of the Sports Minister. He said that any player from the entire state can directly submit a complaint related to the sports facility or technical organization of the games to the committee. According to which immediate action will be taken against the negligent officers.

The state government is committed to improving the talent of the players
He said that just as the coach plays an important role in improving the talent of the player, in the same way the state government is working to provide international level infrastructure, best coach, jobs and respect to the players. For the development of the players, Haryana has released the sports calendar for the year, under which 18 types of sports are organized differently.

There is a provision of sports gradation and 3 percent sports reservation for the winning players
The Sports Minister said that according to the sports policy of Haryana, there is a provision of making sports certificate gradation by the government for the winning players of the Sports Mahakumbh, under which three percent sports reservation is provided to the players in government jobs.
