Nawanshahr- Red Cross Integrated Rehabilitation Center for Drug Victims Nawanshahr organized an anti-drug awareness camp under the "Drug-Free India Campaign" at Baba Jawahar Singh Ji Gurdwara, village Tapprian Ranewal (Balachaur). This camp was presided over by Mrs. Rajinder Kaur (Sarpanch).

On this occasion, S. Chaman Singh (Project Director) while addressing the villagers said that the bad situation of drugs that is currently there was not at the time of independence. The countrymen fought a joint battle to liberate the country. But even today it is necessary that if the war against drugs is to be won, it can be won only with unity and understanding.
He said that the reason for the youth turning to drugs is the common breakdown of the family, forgetting the culture and turning away from the teachings of great people on how to live life. On this occasion, he explained in detail why children take drugs and what diseases they get due to drugs, the economic and social situation deteriorates and a person becomes mentally ill.
He also published statistics on drugs in India and Punjab and expressed concern that girls are also getting trapped in the swamp of drugs. He gave a message to stay away from drugs by quoting historical and Gurbani. He also told that we should take time to share our sorrows and joys in the family every day so that everyone's problem can be heard and a solution can be found because when the problem of children is not paid attention to, they find such a path from where it becomes difficult to return. He satisfied the villagers by answering their questions according to his intelligence.
Mr. Parvesh Kumar (Peer Educator) also shared detailed information about the treatment of patients at the center that any drug addict can get free treatment by staying in the center for a month as per his wish, because addiction cannot be cured by staying at home, to get rid of addiction it is necessary to reach out to psychiatrists and drug detoxification centers. On this occasion, Mr. Mohan Singh (Former Sarpanch) shared his views on drugs and appealed to the villagers that we should follow the advice of the team that came, he also assured of this. He also thanked the Red Cross team and the villagers. On this occasion, Harpal Singh (Panch), Gurjinder Kaur (Panch), Kulwinder Singh (Panch), Harbhajan Singh, Harpal Kaur, Harjinder Singh (Numberdar), Paramjit Kaur (Aganwadi Worker), Pakhar Singh, Satnam Singh, Amarjit Kaur, Arandeep Kaur and a large number of other villagers were present.
