Prize money of Rs 19.72 crore approved for 13 players and medal winners of Para Asian Games.

Chandigarh, June 27 - After immediate action taken by Haryana Para Sports Association Chairman and Haryana Health Minister Kumari Aarti Singh Rao, the Haryana Government has approved prize money of Rs 19.72 crore for cash awards to 13 players from Haryana participating in the 4th Para Asian Games 2022.

Chandigarh, June 27 - After immediate action taken by Haryana Para Sports Association Chairman and Haryana Health Minister Kumari Aarti Singh Rao, the Haryana Government has approved prize money of Rs 19.72 crore for cash awards to 13 players from Haryana participating in the 4th Para Asian Games 2022.
Among these awardees, athletics player Heni will get Rs 3 crore for winning a gold medal. Invesh Kumar (Para Badminton) will get Rs 3 crore for winning a gold medal and Rs 1.5 crore for winning a silver medal. Sarita Adhana (Para Archery) will get Rs 1.5 crore for winning a silver medal.
Pooja, Dharambir, Rinku, Prasad, Yogesh Kadhunia, Rampal and Meenu Ghanghas will get Rs 1.50-1.50 crore for winning silver medals. Para lawn ball player Anju Bala, athletics player Jasbir and canoeist Jaydeep will get Rs 7.50-7.50 lakh for participating in the games.
Apart from this, athletics players Pranav Yurma, Raman Sharma, Sumit and Tarun Dhillon will also get Rs 3 crore each for winning gold medals. Their prize money will be approved in the coming days.
Health Minister Kumari Aarti Singh Rao said that our para athletes have brought great pride to Haryana and the country. It was our responsibility to ensure that they are honoured and rewarded without delay. I thank the Chief Minister for taking immediate action. The state government is committed to empowering every athlete who overcomes challenges to make India proud.
He further said that the state government is dedicated to creating a supportive environment for para-sports. It is worth mentioning that the players had met Kumari Aarti Singh Rao a few days ago regarding the distribution of cash prizes. The Minister took up the matter with the Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini, as a result of which immediate action was taken and the prize money has been distributed.
