Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, April 15: Under the guidance of Cabinet Minister of Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Dairy Development Department Mr. Gurmeet Singh Khudian, Additional Chief Secretary of Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Dairy Development Department Mr. Rahul Bhandari, and under the orders of Dairy Development Department and Director of Animal Husbandry Department Punjab Gursharanjit Singh Bedi, free vaccination of animals has been started across Punjab from today to protect them from Foot and Mouth Disease.
Under this program, Deputy Director of Animal Husbandry Department Dr. Shivkant Gupta launched the district campaign at Bal Gopal Gaushala, Balongi. He informed that for this work 29 teams have been formed in the district, which will go door to door and vaccinate the animals.
Under this campaign, 1,58,000 animals will be vaccinated free of cost in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district. On this occasion, Dr. Alamdeep Kaur, Assistant Director Animal Husbandry, (AH), Dr. Lokesh Kumar, Assistant Director Animal Husbandry (AP), Dr. Rajesh Narang, Senior Veterinary Officer, Mohali, Dr. Harpreet Singh, Veterinary Officer, Raipur, Mr. Gur Iqbal Singh, V.I. and the manager of the Gaushala were also present.
