Deputy Commissioner Ankurjit Singh, while holding a meeting with the heads of all departments at the District Administrative Complex, said that the administration has issued orders that all shops, cinema halls, restaurants, dhabas, markets and other commercial establishments will remain closed from 8:00 pm to 6:00 am. Apart from this, blackout will be in effect from 8:30 pm to 5:30 am across the district from today. He also appealed that lights outside houses and commercial establishments, markets, ATMs and banks should be kept off for security reasons.
The Deputy Commissioner also stressed that if anyone sees any drone or unidentified material anywhere, then it should be ensured to immediately inform the district level control room numbers 01823-220545 and 01823-226192 or police control room 01823-226524, 01823-508063 or WhatsApp number 95646-95646. He said that in such cases, no substance should be touched and its information should be given immediately to the control rooms as it can also be explosive material.
Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner also discussed the communication plan with the officials and directed them to implement it with full spirit. He said that people should avoid going to large gatherings and crowded places, and staying in tall buildings. He said that the administration is taking all precautionary measures and the residents need not panic and remain calm. The Deputy Commissioner said that hoarding and storage of essential commodities has already been banned under the Essential Commodities Act and Section 163 of the Indian Civil Protection Act. He also directed the officers to perform their duties with full dedication and diligence to deal with any emergency. He has directed the Sub-Divisional Magistrates to interact with the owners, tenants and residents of high-rise buildings so that they can be apprised of the current situation and the preventive measures to be taken in case of emergency.
