
Programme organised in memory of lyricist Almast Desarpuri.
Jalandhar – Recently, the third anniversary celebrations were organised in memory of Fakir poet Almast Desarpuri at his birthplace village Desarpur. This anniversary celebration was organised by his elder son Sagar Desarpuri, Sunu Desarpuri, entire village panchayat and residents of the town. The family offered a chaadar on the tomb of poet Almast Desarpuri. This ritual was performed by Sagar Desarpuri and family members.

On this occasion, Gaddi Nashin Sai Kalvinder Shah of Darbar Baba Rudde Shah Jalalwal, Kaleshah of Parwana Yadgari Cultural Forum Athola, President of Harbans Arora Yadgari Kalyan Samiti Mr. Rajneesh Kumar and Fakir souls from various Darbars reached the spot and offered floral tributes to Almast ji.
At the beginning of the stage, the singers of the region remembered Almast ji through their songs and apart from them Jaswinder Ghulam, Vijay Pal, Rajinder Rajan, Mani Kutli etc. registered their presence and paid tribute. Dalwinder Dayalpuri, who is known as the pride of fairs, while taking over the stage, remembered the moments spent with Almast Desarpuri Hazur and paid tribute to him through his songs.
Singers Manjit Saira, Neetu Singh also celebrated this occasion through their songs. The duo of Amrik Bal-Madam Suniya and Amrik Michael and Madam Aarti also remembered Almast Desarpuri Hazur and spread the colors of their art. Sabi Brar conducted the stage during the entire program.
During this memorable third anniversary fair, the organizers honored the singers and lyricists with high honors. Especially, lyricist Satish Dardi, disciple of Almast Desarpuri, was specially honored. Apart from him, Rahul Lahri, lyricist Cheharke, Paramjeet Pamma etc. were also present on this occasion. At the end, Sagar Desarpuri expressed his gratitude to the dignitaries who had come.
