Voting for Municipal Corporation, Municipal Council and Nagar Panchayat elections today, all preparations complete

Patiala, December 20- Voting for the general elections of 45 wards of the Municipal Corporation, Nagar Panchayats Ghagga and Bhadson, as well as the by-elections of one ward each of the Municipal Councils Rajpura, Nabha and Patran will be held tomorrow from 7 am to 4 pm, and after the voting, the counting of votes will take place at the polling stations, for which all preparations have been completed by the district administration.

Patiala, December 20- Voting for the general elections of 45 wards of the Municipal Corporation, Nagar Panchayats Ghagga and Bhadson, as well as the by-elections of one ward each of the Municipal Councils Rajpura, Nabha and Patran will be held tomorrow from 7 am to 4 pm, and after the voting, the counting of votes will take place at the polling stations, for which all preparations have been completed by the district administration.
In order to conduct these elections in a completely fair and peaceful manner, the polling parties sent by the election staff to poll the votes reached their polling stations late in the evening with election materials. Meanwhile, Election Observer and Secretary Cooperation Anindita Mitra and District Election Officer Dr. Preeti Yadav reviewed the dispatch of poll parties and election arrangements and gave necessary instructions to the returning officers.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav said that for these elections, all the returning officers have handed over voting machines and other election materials to the parties of presiding officers and polling officers and sent them under the supervision of security forces to conduct the election process smoothly.
The Deputy Commissioner said that disciplinary action will be taken against any officer or employee who commits any kind of negligence during election duty. He said that the district administration is committed to ensuring that this election will be successfully conducted in a peaceful, fair and transparent manner.
Meanwhile, SSP Dr. Nanak Singh said that the police has made proper arrangements to conduct the elections in a free manner and maintain law and order inside and for which the necessary force has been deployed. While patrolling parties are also deployed equipped with wireless.
Apart from this, special checkpoints have been set up and special surveillance will be kept on sensitive polling booths and videography is also being done. Dr. Nanak Singh further said that no anti-social element will be allowed to cause any disturbance. And those who do so will be dealt with strictly. And no person will be allowed to spoil the atmosphere and disrupt law and order.
Meanwhile, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development)-cum-Additional District Election Officer Anuprita Johal wished the deployed election staff for successful voting and also appealed to all the voters to extend their cooperation for the peaceful and successful conduct of these elections.
