Only safety practices and first aid can save lives during war, disaster, industrial accidents - Dwarka Das.

Mr Dwarka Das, Deputy Director, Factories, Patiala-Ropar, Mr Sandeep Singh, Senior Officer, Punjab State Labour Department, Chandigarh and Mr Saurabh Kalian, Chief Safety Officer, Mohali, while addressing a two-day safety and first aid training programme held at Primo Chemical Factory, Nawan Nangal said that war, disaster and industrial accidents are the biggest casualties on humanity and hence it is important that every citizen, police, factory workers and youth should be trained and made to practise them so that precious lives can be saved.

On this occasion, Disaster Management, Civil Defence, First Aid, Fire Safety Instructor of Government of India, Mr. Kaka Ram Verma, who arrived specially from Patiala, thanked the Punjab Government and the factory managers and said that every life is very precious, therefore, through continuous training and practice, employees and citizens should be given continuous training in first aid, CPR, recovery position, ventilator artificial respiration and care of the injured so that in future, in case of sudden war, disaster, industry, traffic or domestic incidents, lives of self and victims can be saved.
Mr. Kaka Ram Verma said that to reduce the death of more than 80 percent of victims due to sudden incidents, 8 types of disaster management, civil defence, first aid, fire safety teams should be prepared in every area, institute and factory. They should be given practical training, practice and mock drills twice a year by subject experts so that their confidence and courage increases.
They gave information about war, earthquake, fire, gas leaks, electrical short circuits, saving precious lives during building collapse, first aid, ABCD, recovery or ventilator position, artificial respiration, lying down on the ground or in trenches, bunkers during bombs and missiles. They made people aware about the use of sheets, turbans, sticks, ropes, branches during emergencies.
They gave information about helmets, seat belts, rear-view mirrors and cyber security to follow traffic rules and laws. Security Officer KC Chugh gave information about handling of chlorine and other gases, Gurpreet Singh and Sorabh Kali gave information about reducing accidents in factories, houses and on roads.
Kaka Ram Verma also gave detailed information about cyber security as a large number of people suffer loss of life and property due to cyber crime. At the end of the program, the trainees were felicitated by giving certificates. Kaka Ram Verma was felicitated by the DGM, Chief Manager of the factory and Punjab Labour Department for giving training in factories for last 45 years.
