
Chief Electoral Officer Punjab conducted quarterly inspection of EVM godown at Hoshiarpur.
Hoshiarpur- Quarterly inspection of EVM godown set up at district level for June 2025 was conducted by Chief Electoral Officer Punjab Sibin C today under the directions of Election Commission of India. The inspection was conducted in the presence of Additional District Election Officer Amarbir Kaur Bhullar, in which representatives of various political parties were also present. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Nikas Kumar and Assistant Commissioner Oshi Mandal were also present during this.

As part of the inspection process, the godown was opened and the condition of EVM and VVPAT machines, security arrangements, sealing system and CCTV surveillance system were closely inspected. All related records, logbooks and entry registers were also inspected to ensure transparency.
Chief Electoral Officer Sibin C said that quarterly verification of EVM godown is a regular and necessary process, which is done in every district from time to time. Its purpose is to maintain fairness, security and transparency of the election process.
He expressed satisfaction that the warehouse management in Hoshiarpur district was found to be of the highest standards. Representatives of political parties present on the occasion said that this initiative of the Election Commission strengthens the faith of common people in the democratic process and is helpful in removing the misconceptions spread about the fairness of the machines.
Bhushan Kumar Sharma from BJP, Rajneesh Tandon from Indian National Congress, Jaspal Singh and Jai Ram from Aam Aadmi Party, Madan Singh Bains from Bahujan Samaj Party, besides Nodal Officer EVM Balwinder Singh, Assistant Nodal Officer Jaspal Singh and Rupinderpal Singh, former PWD Gurmeet Singh, SDO Tilak Raj, Tehsildar Election Harminder Singh, Election Kanungo Deepak Kumar, Lakhvir Singh, Rajan Monga were also present on the occasion.
