Chandigarh, April 23 – Pakistan has claimed in its first reaction to the inhumane terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir that it has “nothing to do” with the incident, while also saying that the country “rejects terrorism in all its forms”. In a statement, Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said, “Pakistan has nothing to do with the inhumane terror attack.”
He added, “In India, the central government is facing protests in several states including Nagaland, Manipur, Kashmir and Chhattisgarh. This has arisen at the domestic level because the government is exploiting many people.” The Pakistan Defence Minister added, “We do not support terrorism in any form and local people should not be the target of terrorists and we have no doubt about it.”
"However, if local forces are targeting the Indian government, it becomes easier to target Pakistan," Asif said. The statement came less than 24 hours after a deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam in south Kashmir's Anantnag district that killed 26 people, most of them tourists.
