
Pahalgam attack: Jammu and Kashmir government announces ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh for the families of the deceased.
Srinagar, April 23 - The Jammu and Kashmir government announced an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh for the families of each person killed in the Pahalgam terror attack. Making this announcement, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said in a post on X, “Extremely saddened by the heinous terrorist attack in Pahalgam yesterday. This barbaric act against innocent civilians has no place in our society. We condemn it in the strongest terms. We mourn the loss of precious lives.”

The Chief Minister said that no amount of money can ever replace the sacrifice of an individual, but as a symbol of support and solidarity, the Jammu and Kashmir government announces an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh for the families of the deceased. The Chief Minister also announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh for the seriously injured and Rs 1 lakh for the slightly injured. Abdullah said that all arrangements have been made to transport the bodies of the deceased to their homes in a dignified manner and the best medical care is being provided to the injured and we stand with you in this terrible time.
