Mohali- NIPER SAS Nagar (Mohali) is commemorating a yearlong celebration of 75 years of the adaptation of the Constitution of India as well as a yearlong celebration of Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas and Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh (Nov 2024 - Nov 2025).
As a part of this yearlong program, and to celebrate Ambedkar Jayanti and remember the pivotal role of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar in shaping the Constitution of India, NIPER SAS Nagar has organized an expert talk on ‘Reservations within Reservation’ – a new evolving strategy: An essential of Dr. Ambedkar's constitutional vision of 'inclusive society' in the Making and Glory of our Constitution (A critique of 7 - Judge Constitution Bench Judgment of the Supreme Court delivered on August 1, 2024)’ on April 15, 2025.
The talk was delivered by Prof. Virendra Kumar, LL.M., S.J.D. (Toronto, Canada) and UGC Emeritus Fellow, Panjab University, Formerly: Professor & Chairman, Department of Laws, Dean, Faculty of Law and Fellow Panjab University. The lecture revolved on why did Dr. Ambdekar envisioned ‘equitable inclusive society’ as the prime basis in the making and glory of our constitution for Independent India.
Prof. Arun Kumar Grover, Honorary Professor, Department of Physics, PEC, Chandigarh and ex-Vice Chancellor (2012-18), Panjab University, Chandigarh was the guest of honour who briefed about the role of political and thought leaders of the colonial government in the independent movement. Wing Cdr. PJP Singh Waraich (Retd.), Registrar, NIPER Mohali welcomed the esteemed guests at the NIPER Mohali. Prof. Dulal Panda, Director, NIPER SAS Nagar highlighted the crucial role of Dr. Ambedkar in shaping the Indian Constitution as the Chairman of the Drafting Committee, ensuring its embodied principles of justice, equality, and fraternity. Prof. Abhay H. Pande, Head of the Department of Biotechnology and Chairman of the committee, delivered the vote of thank.
