Demand to create vending zone in Ram Darbar Colony, Kamlesh Banarasi Das, former Mayor Chandigarh.
Chandigarh- The complaint of the residents of Ram Darbar Colony is correct that the street vendors are being removed from there and sent to IT Park, whereas their need and customers are in Ram Darbar itself.
Chandigarh- The complaint of the residents of Ram Darbar Colony is correct that the street vendors are being removed from there and sent to IT Park, whereas their need and customers are in Ram Darbar itself.
It is important to understand that IT Park is about 10 kilometers away from Ram Darbar and there is not such a large number of customers available there as there is in Ram Darbar Colony, which has a population of about 50,000.
This is causing a lot of loss to the street vendors. All the street vendors are depositing money in the name of IT Park. The residents of Ram Darbar also need these street vendors for their daily needs.
Therefore, it would be appropriate to create a vending zone in Ram Darbar Colony itself. This will make it easier for the street vendors to run their business and will also provide convenience to the residents of Ram Darbar. It will also be better for the local economy.
This demand of the public is absolutely justified, therefore, keeping in view the public interest, you should create a zone in Ram Darbar itself and provide relief to the street vendors. We had brought this to the notice of the commissioner when he came to Ram Darbar on May 5. But yesterday everyone was removed. We oppose this and want a solution to the problem soon.
