
Sarpanch Panch Milan Ceremony at Khalsa College Mahilpur
Mahilpur, April 11- Sarpanch Panch Milan Ceremony organised by Sikh Educational Council, Principal and Staff of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College Mahilpur, under the 'Pind Di Shaan' programme for the improvement of education in rural society, left a lasting impression. Sarpanchs, Panchs and other prominent personalities from around 155 villages of Mahilpur block participated in this ceremony and discussed the contribution being made to the rural society through higher education by old educational institutions like Khalsa College Mahilpur.
Mahilpur, April 11- Sarpanch Panch Milan Ceremony organised by Sikh Educational Council, Principal and Staff of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College Mahilpur, under the 'Pind Di Shaan' programme for the improvement of education in rural society, left a lasting impression. On this occasion, Member of Parliament from Lok Sabha constituency Hoshiarpur, Dr. Raj Kumar was the chief guest, while former member of NRI Commission, Daljit Singh Sahota was present in a dignified manner. At the beginning of the ceremony, the General Secretary of the Council, Prof. Apinder Singh shared the welcome words for the personalities present and shared information about the contribution being made by Khalsa College Mahilpur in the development of the area. College Principal Dr. Parvinder Singh informed the officials of Panchayat institutions about the history and present of the college.
Discussing the contribution made by the college in the field of education, sports, art and culture, he said that students are welcome in the new session of this institution which has been active with missionary spirit since 1946. He also shared information about the scholarship schemes running in the college, concessions available for needy and promising students of all categories and special facilities for the students joining from the next session.
He said that only the cooperation of Panchayat officials and missionary institutions can bring revolution in the field of education. On this occasion, Chief Guest MP Dr. Raj Kumar said that Khalsa College is a great contribution to the Mahilpur area, from where the students have earned a lot of name in the country and abroad. He assured to give every kind of support for the development work of the institution.
On this occasion, NRI Daljit Singh Sahota refreshed the memories related to his student life and inspired the residents of the area to give every kind of support for the better development of the institution. On this occasion, Shiromani Bal Sahitya writer Baljinder Mann, S. Gurmeet Singh Kalewal Fattu and Harbhajan Singh Neetpur presented their views on the achievements of the college in various fields. On this occasion, students of the music department, Lakhwinder Kaur, Palwinder Kaur and Jai Sharma presented cultural songs. On this occasion, the dignitaries present were felicitated by the college management.
On this occasion, the stage was conducted by Dr. J.B. Sekhon. On this occasion, Sikh Educational Council manager Inderjit Singh Bharta, senior vice president Gurpreet Singh Bains, treasurer Virinder Sharma, Jaspreet Singh Kharadi, Gurdayal Singh Kaharpur, social worker Goldy Singh Sarpanch Biharan, Sukhdev Singh Bombeli, Sarpanch Kamaldeep Kaur, Nagar Panchayat President Davinder Singh Saini, Professor Jaswinder Singh, Professor Tajinder Singh, Dr. Varinder Azad, along with the teaching and non-teaching staff of the college, students and a large number of Sarpanchs and Panchayat members of the area were present.
