
Saka Neela Tara: Sikh organizations have drawn up programs for the Ghallughara week.
Amritsar, May 31 - Ghallughara week is starting tomorrow, June 1, in memory of the Saka Neela Tara June 6, 1984 military attack. In this regard, various programs have been drawn up by Sikh organizations. On the other hand, considering the seriousness of the Ghallughara week, the government has planned to make strict security arrangements, under which about six thousand security personnel will be deployed here.

In this regard, various programs have been drawn up by Sikh organizations. On the other hand, considering the seriousness of the Ghallughara week, the government has planned to make strict security arrangements, under which about six thousand security personnel will be deployed here.
In memory of all the Sikhs killed in the Saka Neela Tara military attack that took place about 41 years ago, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee celebrates Ghallughara Day every year at Sri Akal Takht, in the name of all the martyrs, Bhog of Akhand Path is performed and prayers are offered.
Ghallughara week is going to start tomorrow, June 1. The Hawara Committee will hold Akhand Path and Bhog at Gurdwara Baba Atal Rai tomorrow, June 1, in memory of Bhai Mehnagah Singh of the Babbar Khalsa organization. Akhand Path was started on May 30 in this regard. After Akhand Path and Bhog on June 1, activists associated with the organization and activists of other organizations will gather at Sri Akal Takht and offer prayers.
Meanwhile, the Shiromani Committee will start Akhand Path at Sri Akal Takht on June 4, the Bhog of which will be offered on June 6 and after offering prayers at Akal Takht on June 6, the families of the martyrs will be honored.
Similarly, Damdami Taksal will organize a separate martyrdom ceremony at Gurdwara Gurdarshan Parkash located in Chowk Mehta. The extremist Sikh organization Dal Khalsa has announced a Ghallughara march on the evening of June 5 regarding Ghallughara Day, which will pass through various markets in the city and end at Akal Takht. The organization has called for Amritsar bandh on June 6.
On the other hand, the government has planned to make strict security arrangements considering the seriousness and sensitivity of this day. Under this, about 6000 security personnel will be deployed in the city. Blockades will be set up around Sri Harmandir Sahib and on the roads leading into and out of the city.
Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that about 3000 security personnel will be called from different districts, including PAP security personnel. During the Ghallughara week, about 6 thousand police personnel will be deployed in and around the city for security arrangements.
He said that about 62 checkpoints will be set up in this regard, out of which police will be deployed at 52 checkpoints day and night, 14 checkpoints will be set up around Sri Harmandir Sahib, 20 checkpoints will be set up inside the inner city and ten checkpoints will be set up in other parts of the city.
Similarly, ten checkpoints will be on the entry and exit routes of the city. He said that around 40 officers of DSP and SP level will supervise the overall security arrangements. He said that the overall situation will be monitored and no one will be allowed to disturb the law and order.
