Garhshankar, June 19 - The law and order situation in the Assembly Garhshankar and surrounding areas has completely deteriorated and people have lost faith in the administration. This view was expressed by Congress Party constituency in-charge and All India Congress Committee member Amarpreet Singh Lali in a press note issued.
Amarpreet Lali said that the brutal murder of 20-year-old Aryan Kumar near Shahpur Ghat last night is proof that the law and order system has ended in the area. He said that it is the administration's job to maintain law and order, but the MLA who repeatedly appointed incompetent officers using political influence is directly responsible for this situation and he should apologize to the people of Garhshankar.
Amarpreet Lali said that the peaceful Garhshankar area of ??Doaba has today become a market for illegal activities. First the desecration of Guru Granth Sahib and now the matter of damaging the statue of Baba Sahib Bhimrao Ambedkar was the topic of discussion among the Jats of Noorpur, when Aryan was murdered last night. Looting and murders are taking place openly and people are in an atmosphere of fear. The police has kept the mystery of the body of 20-year-old Bhupinder of Nainwan, found in pieces, hidden till date.
Lali said that despite knowing the administration's own orders that tippers will not be operated during the day, illegal mining mafia is dancing naked on the roads. The administration has failed to stop illegal felling of forests in the recent past. Thieves have created a ruckus in the villages and areas of Samundra, Simbli, Panama. The failure of the administration is that the thieves targeted the medical stores of the city in one night and the police kept sleeping.
Even three policemen could not catch a thief who was stealing from a medical store in Mahilpur and he ran away. The working of the local MLA has come under suspicion because the police officer suspended for taking bribe has been repeatedly posted in the police stations of Gadhshankar under the pressure of the MLA.
Lali said that officers who indulge in corruption and get posted after taking bribe are never sensitive towards their duty. He said that if the law and order situation remains the same, then the people of Gadhshankar will be forced to take to the streets.
