Literary program dedicated to Women's Day

Nawanshahr- A literary program dedicated to 'Women's Day' was organized by Navjot Sahitya Sanstha Aur at Guru Nanak College for Women Banga. College Principal Madam Meenu Bhola warmly welcomed the speakers and contestants during the program. Dr. Kulwinder Singh Dhahan, President of Guru Nanak Mission Medical and Educational Trust Dhahan, Kalera, attended the program as the chief guest. He praised women empowerment and wished for always promoting the self-respect and unity of the women society.

Navjot Sahitya Sanstha Aur President Surjit Mazari shared the literary activities carried out by the organization under the leadership of women throughout the last year. He also congratulated the girl students who won awards in the writing competition dedicated to Women's Day. Dr. Monica Sahni, Head of Punjabi Department of the college, told about the efforts to light the flame of literature among the students of the college.
During the program, Dr. Paramjit Kaur and Dr. Gurpreet Kaur, who arrived specially from Punjabi University Patiala, also shared their views. He invited the students to take inspiring steps in public life to safeguard their existence. The guests and the organizers felicitated Harmanjit Kaur, a BA sixth semester student who stood first in the written competition.
The songs of Davinder Skohpuri and Des Raj Bali made the atmosphere emotional. Similarly, students of different classes namely Nishu, Simran, Amrit, Seema Sahajal, Jaspreet Kaur, Sanjana, Prerna, Harmeen Kaur, Anisha, Harshdeep Kaur, Ramandeep Kaur, Lovepreet Kaur were also given certificates of this competition.
During the program, the stage was managed by the organization's secretary Rajinder Jassal. On this occasion, Adabi Mehak's editor Satpal Sahlon, organization's media team in-charge Raj Sohi were present. On this occasion, Dr. Sandeep Kaur, Davinder Skohpuri, Des Raj Bali etc. were also present.
