Rape case: Former JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna sentenced to life imprisonment.

Bengaluru- A special court here on Saturday sentenced former MP and suspended JD(S) leader Prajwal Revanna to life imprisonment in a rape case. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 10 lakh.

Judge Santosh Gajanan of the special court for MLAs and MPs had convicted 34-year-old Prajwal on Friday in four cases of sexual harassment and rape registered against him.
The case concerns a 48-year-old woman working at the family's Gannikada farmhouse in Holenarsipura in Hassan district. It is alleged that she was raped twice in 2021 and the accused had recorded the incident on his mobile phone.
Four separate cases have been registered against Prajwal Revanna, who is facing charges of rape and sexual assault, and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed to investigate the cases against him.
