The event gathered healthcare professionals and nurse leaders to discuss effective leadership in infection prevention and control (IPC). This event brought together senior nursing professionals from government & private hospitals across tricity region ( Chandigarh, Mohali & Panchkula) in fostering a collaborative environment for exchange of knowledge.
Speaking at the inaugural, Prof. Vipin Koushal Medical Superintendent, and Chairperson Hospital Infection Control Committee PGIMER, Chandigarh mentioned the critical role that nurses have in ensuring patient safety and preventing Hospital Acquired Infections. Prof. Ashok Kumar, Additional Medical Superintendent, PGIMER spoke about how the hand hygiene movement took shape and how it has brought about an increased compliance to the guidelines in the institution. Prof Manisha Biswal, Dept Of Microbiology lauded the efforts of Infection Control Nurses of the institute in bringing down the infection rates.
