SAS Nagar, February 18, 2025: Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) Anmol Singh Dhaliwal today held a meeting with Municipal Corporation, Municipal Councils and Nagar Panchayat officials at the District Administrative Complex to review the urban development works of the district.
Chairing the meeting, he received the progress report of the performance of the last month from the officials and reviewed the various ongoing development works and asked them to further expedite the ongoing works.
During the meeting, the Additional Deputy Commissioner directed the Executive Officers of the Municipal Councils of the district to pay special attention to sewerage drainage in their respective areas so that people do not face any kind of problem. He said that people of private colonies on VIP Road in Zirakpur install motors and pour their sewer water into the sewer located on VIP Road.
He told the officers that by making announcements in the colonies or by holding meetings with the colony residents, they should be instructed that the work of pouring water in the sewer should be done between 11 pm to 6 am, so that the sewer does not overflow during the day. Apart from this, he instructed the officers of various departments as per the guidelines received from the Punjab and Haryana High Court that if any instructions have been given by the High Court on any court case in their department, then the concerned department should pay close attention to whether action has been taken according to it or not. Replies to court cases should be filed on time.
ADC. Under the Municipal Corporation, the work of door-to-door garbage collection is 100 percent and the work of separating wet and dry garbage is more than 85 percent. The Additional Deputy Commissioner directed that efforts should be made to build Waste Wonder Park at various places in the district. He instructed the officers to investigate the illegal encroachments and constructions done by builders, companies and private persons in the city and inform their higher officials after getting the illegal encroachments vacated so that illegal encroachments can be stopped. He asked to complete the pending applications under Pradhan Mantri Urban Housing Scheme so that the beneficiaries can get the benefits under the financial assistance scheme for building permanent houses. The Additional Deputy Commissioner said that the district administration is fully alert to prevent road accidents in the district. He asked the Municipal Corporation, Councils and Nagar Panchayat officials to share five points related to their constituencies to prevent/reduce road accidents so that appropriate action can be taken on it and where CCTV cameras are required, it should also be brought to his notice.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner asked the officials of the Municipal Councils of the district to rent or purchase one ambulance each for the care of stray/injured animals in their respective areas so that it can be used when needed. Taking seriously the increasing cases of dog bites, Additional Deputy Commissioner Anmol Singh Dhaliwal ordered the officials of local government institutions to take appropriate action immediately to provide relief to the people from the problem of dog bites.
He asked the local urban institutions to start animal birth control campaign. He asked the EO to train the team to control stray animals so that accidents with stray animals can be prevented. He also directed the concerned officials to submit the utility certificates of the works completed. Apart from this, he also instructed to start the allotted works.
He instructed to complete the pending works within the stipulated time. During the meeting, he told the concerned officials that if there is any difficulty in doing the work, then it should be brought to his notice. Apart from SDM Derabassi Amit Gupta, officers of various departments were also present in the meeting.
