SAS Nagar, July 23 - Tricity's first Sphatik Shivling has been installed at Shri Amriteshwar Temple in Sector 89. Shri 108 Tapasvi Agnihotri Sampurnanand Brahmachari Maharaj, who reached the temple, said that Rudrabhishek and the teachings of Lord Shiva have great significance in the month of Sawan. He said that there is a lot of enthusiasm among Shiva devotees due to the installation of this rare Sphatik Shivling.
Today, on the occasion of Shivratri, a group of Kanwariyas performed Jalabhishek at the temple, after which devotees came to the temple throughout the day. After this, a huge Aarti was organized after the Bhandara.
He told that Rudrabhishek is performed in the temple throughout the month of Sawan, which is a powerful way to please Lord Shiva and it is considered especially auspicious in this month. During this ritual, Shivling is anointed with water, milk, honey, curd, ghee and Ganga water. 
He said that by performing Rudrabhishek and listening to the teachings of Lord Shiva in the month of Sawan, devotees receive the blessings of Lord Shiva and happiness, peace and prosperity comes in their lives.
