
The Dayanand Chair of PU, Chandigarh launched the 'Acharya Ramnath Vedalkar Smriti-Vyakhyan' in the memory of Professor Ramnath Vedalkar (founder of the Dayanand Chair).
Chandigarh, February 5, 2025- Today, on 05 February 2025, Dayanand Chair, Punjab University Chandigarh started 'Acharya Ramnath Vedalankar Smriti-Vyakhyan' in the memory of Professor Ramnath Vedalankar (founder of Dayanand Chair). The topic of this special lecture was - Vedic Political Principles, in which Professor Balveer Acharya, from Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak was present as the chief guest and speaker.
Chandigarh, February 5, 2025- Today, on 05 February 2025, Dayanand Chair, Punjab University Chandigarh started 'Acharya Ramnath Vedalankar Smriti-Vyakhyan' in the memory of Professor Ramnath Vedalankar (founder of Dayanand Chair). The topic of this special lecture was - Vedic Political Principles, in which Professor Balveer Acharya, from Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak was present as the chief guest and speaker. The program was inaugurated by Assistant Professor of the Department, Dr. Bhardwaj with Vedic Mantra chanting and Prof. V.K. Alankar welcomed the keynote speaker and all the dignitaries present. In his speech, the main speaker Professor Balvir Acharya, while interpreting Dharma as duty, behaviour and constitution, commented logically on the theory of origin of the nation, Sabha, Samiti, qualities and oath of the king, Dharmashastra, judicial system, functions of the Council of Ministers, Vedic Judge i.e. the chief Vedic scholar (priest), tax system and duties of the subjects. Thereafter, Professor of the Department, Professor Virendra Kumar Alankar, while promoting social harmony, instructed to behave together in the society and also pointed out that the words of the Vedas are not conventions but compound i.e. one word can have many meanings. On this occasion, Professor Gurpal Singh of Guru Nanak Sikh Studies also presented the Vedic quotations in Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Assistant Professor of the Department, Dr. Bhardwaj thanked all the dignitaries present. In this program, many Professors of the University and College, especially Professor Manu Sharma, Professor Ritu Bala, Professor were present. Lakhbir Singh, Dr. Sushma Alankar, Dr. Tomir Sharma, Dr. Sunita Devi, Dr. Devi Singh and all the students and officers of Sanskrit department were present.
