Hoshiarpur: The District Executive Meeting of Punjab Pensioners Welfare Association (regd) District Hoshiarpur was held at Mulajam Bhawan Hoshiarpur under the chairmanship of District President Kulwaran Singh. A large number of fellow pensioners attended this meeting. Releasing the proceedings of the meeting to the press, State Press Secretary Balveer Singh Saini said that at the beginning of the meeting, District President Kulwaran Singh addressed the members present. He reviewed the struggles and organizational actions done in the past days and thanked the colleagues for their cooperation for the success of the struggle.
He said that the demands of the pensioners include giving factor of 2.59 to pensioners retired before 2016; release of balance amount free from 1.1.2016 to 30.6.2021; release of due installments of DA and balance amount; and implementation of cashless scheme; and increase in medical allowance; restore old pension system to regular listed employees from 04 January; restore GP fund in place of CPF; The non-acceptance of the demand for new recruitment and regularization of temporary employees was strongly condemned and strong protest was raised against the Hon'ble Punjab Government.
During the meeting, Punjab Pensioners Welfare Association (Regd.) District Hoshiarpur passed a unanimous resolution to celebrate Pensioner's Day on 17 December 2024 at Bharat Palace, Prabhat Chowk, Hoshiarpur, like every year. Kulwaran Singh informed that the chief guest of this program will be Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Agarwal, Deputy General Manager, Head Circle, Punjab National Bank, Hoshiarpur; and the special guests will be great trade union leader Mr. Harkanwal Singh, District President Gurdaspur Mr. Javand Singh and Convener Punjab Mulajam Pensioners Sanyukt Morcha Mr. Satish Rana Ji.
He appealed to the fellow pensioners of District Hoshiarpur to reach in large numbers before 10-30 am and join the function. On this occasion, like every year, fellow pensioners living a sweet life in the 80th year of their life will also be honored. On this occasion, District Secretary Kripal Singh, Vice President Suraj Prakash, Pradhan Pyara Singh, Shamsher Singh Dhami, Sudesh Chandra Sharman Finance Secretary, Gyan Singh Gupta Talwara, Dalveer Singh Bhullar, Surinder Kumar, Ajit Singh Guraya, Manjit Singh Saini, Manjinder Singh, Shakti Kumar, Sarup Chand, Anil Kumar Sharma, Karamjit Singh and a large number of pensioners were present.
