The Crisis of Education Expensive Unequal and Directionless

For generations in India, education has been considered the most reliable path out of poverty and uncertainty. Families are forced to live in hardship but invest most of their capital in school education, believing that higher education will ensure a better future for their children. Today, this belief is in serious crisis. Education is no longer just about learning or empowerment; it is rapidly becoming expensive, unequal, and alarmingly directionless. Generation Gap The Truth of the Present

Recently, I came across a story of a 75-year-old man who was roaming around the city at this advanced age, selling calendars, maps and charts for children. When someone asked him that this age is for sitting at home and resting while you wander around outside all day, the old man replied that if I stay at home all day, I will nag my daughters-in-law and children. "The light is on, the water is left on, the children are on their mobile phones" etc. Such nagging is not liked by the current generation and doing so will reduce my dignity and disturb the peace of the house.

Limits of Words or Language

Our speech or language is a reflection of our personality. It hides the values and upbringing of a person. It is generally said that the choice of words should be correct. Sometimes, words spoken in the flow of emotions can spoil long-standing relationships forever. Someone has rightly said: weigh your words before speaking. Statements or talks issued in public gatherings without thinking often become a cause of great trouble for the speaker.

Social Equality When and How

It has been 78 years since India gained independence. Thousands of people sacrificed their lives, endured imprisonment, and their families suffered immense hardships to secure the country's freedom. The India of their dreams was a nation where every individual would have equal rights, and all people could breathe freely in an environment free from fear, oppression, and exploitation. Social equality is the condition where every individual, regardless of caste discrimination, is granted equal rights, opportunities, and facilities. According to the Indian Constitution, all citizens are equal, and no discrimination can be made based on religion, caste, gender, region, or color. However, when these laws and regulations are observed at the ground level, the reality appears to be quite different.

Challenges of the Agricultural Sector

The farmers of our country have been victims of nature’s wrath for centuries. The economy of farmers, agricultural laborers, and their families has remained enslaved to the vagaries of the weather. Sometimes floods, sometimes drought, hailstorms, or sometimes a ripened crop falls prey to fire. A good crop yield brings prosperity, but it always depends on the mercy of God. This year, heavy rainfall and devastating floods,

“Goodness, truth, tolerance, and non-violence: the foundation of an ideal life.”

Today, the 2nd of October, is a highly auspicious day. The first reason is that it marks one of the major festivals of our Indian culture, the sacred festival of Dussehra, and the second is the 156th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. Both occasions honor our great culture and history. Dussehra, also known as Vijayadashami (the day of victory), is a significant festival for Hindus. It is celebrated on the tenth day of the Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of the moon) in the month of Ashwin, following the nine nights of Navratri. On this day, Lord Shri Ram Chandra defeated Ravana, the king of Lanka. This day primarily symbolizes the triumph of good over evil, which is why it is called Vijayadashami.

Himachal Pradesh is Crying Out — Will We Listen Before It’s Too Late?

I was born and raised in Himachal Pradesh — the mountains were my playground, the rivers my companions, and the forests my shelter. I grew up in a world where nature wasn’t something distant or commercialized, but woven into the fabric of our daily lives. We splashed in crystal-clear streams, chased butterflies up rugged hills, and filled our lungs with the purest air imaginable. From a young age, we learned to tread lightly, to honor the land that cradled us like a mother. Those memories are etched in my soul, a reminder of what true harmony feels like.

Where is society heading, children are not safe either?

Some incidents shake the ground beneath our feet and put the definition of being human into question. Crimes against children have always been a horrific reality, but recently a frightening trend has emerged. These crimes are happening against children who are so young that they don't even understand the meaning of crimes or exploitation. When we hear about incidents of sexual exploitation and ruthless violence against children under five years old, a question arises in the mind: Where is our society going? What has happened to our conscience that it has become a silent spectator to such horrific incidents?

GST 2.0: Relief for the Masses or a Vote-Winning Ploy?

As Diwali lights begin to sparkle, India has unveiled a sweeping overhaul of its Goods and Services Tax (GST) system, effective September 22, 2025. Branded GST 2.0, this reform is the boldest tax shake-up since the system’s debut in 2017. The old, tangled slabs of 5%, 12%, 18%, and 28% have been streamlined into just two—5% and 18%—with a 40% rate for luxury and sin goods. For millions of Indians, this promises cheaper essentials, healthcare, and gadgets. But with a looming ₹48,000 crore revenue shortfall and elections around the corner, is this a genuine reform or a festive-season vote magnet?
