Garhshankar, June 21- Senior Akali leader Harjit Singh Bhatpuri claimed that the current Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab has proved to be a complete failure in every aspect, not only failed but flopped. He said that unannounced power cuts in Punjab are proof that the government does not have anything like backup power.
If a line or pole breaks, there is a lot of uproar among the people. Repeated appeals are made. Despite doing so much, the power supply is not started, an example of which has been seen in Saila Khurd area.
Talking about the farmers, Harjit Singh Bhatpuri said that the farmers are dependent on the central and state government for fertilizers. Nano urea is forcibly given along with urea fertilizer. The landowner wants to take urea but does not want to buy nano urea, but the way it is given later with the supply, the dealer also has to give it along with it, which puts an additional financial burden on the farmers. He said that the need is to only complete the supply of urea and stop giving nano urea to people unnecessarily.
Raising questions on the figures being presented by the Punjab government regarding drug addiction, Harjeet Singh Bhatpuri said that the government claims on the basis of the village sarpanch that drug addiction has ended in the village.
He said that the sarpanch can never accuse anyone's child of drug addiction. He said that politicians understand very well that no village sarpanch can ever make the name of a drug addict public, because he would not want to face political opposition in his village.
If the government really wants to bring the correct figures in front of the people, then the hospital in which the government itself provides medicines to drug addicts as a de-addiction center, it should make public the figures of how many people are given de-addiction pills in government hospitals every day. He said that the Punjab government should tell how many big drug smugglers have been arrested and put in jails, yes it is a different matter that drug addicts are being put in jails by accusing them of selling drugs.
Harjeet Singh Bhatpuri said that not only white intoxicants are being sold, but chemical medical drugs are also being sold openly, for which the government should also make arrests. Raising sharp questions on the claims of the Punjab government to increase irrigation in the state through canal water, he said that in the Garhshankar assembly constituency, there are many villages like Bharowal, Bathna, Dadiyal, Dansiwal, Bihar, Bhatpur, Jaswal, Bathla, Jeevanpur Gujran, Jeevanpur Jattan etc. which are situated in the lower part of the Kandi Canal.
These villages needed water from the Kandi Canal, but the government should tell how many acres of land of these villages were provided water from the Kandi Canal for irrigation by the Aam Aadmi Party government. He claimed that the government has completely failed in providing Kandi Canal water for irrigation to the landowners of these villages.
