Addressing the participants of the 11th International Yoga Day here, Modi said that when India proposed to celebrate June 21 as International Yoga Day at the United Nations, 175 countries accepted it in a short time.
He further said that after 11 years, Yoga has now become a part of the lives of crores of people across the world. He said, be it the Sydney Opera House or Mount Everest or the expanse of the ocean, the message is that Yoga is for everyone. He said that Yoga takes us on the path of harmony with the world.
The Prime Minister further said that Yoga is for everyone, regardless of boundaries, background, age or ability. He said that Yoga is a great personal discipline, it is also a system that takes people from 'mine' to 'we' and it is also the 'pause button' that humanity needs to breathe, balance and be whole again. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister later joined volunteers to perform Yoga.
