Hoshiarpur - In view of Lok Sabha Elections 2024 on the instructions of the Election Commission of India, the first randomization of the polling staff took place today under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Komal Mittal in the NIC Office, District Administrative Complex. Additional Deputy Commissioner (c) Rahul Chaba and DIO Pardeep Singh were also present on this occasion.

  Finalizing the randomization of the polling staff, the District Election Officer said that the duty orders of the polling staff will be handed over to the heads of the respective departments. He instructed that those whose duty is involved in the elections should get their duty orders from the concerned office and reach the first rehearsal of the polling staff on the appointed date and time. He asked the appointed polling staff to perform their duties with full diligence and honesty. He said that the polling staff should feel proud that they are becoming a part of the election system.
The District Election Officer said that by mixing the data of the central and state government staff for the 1563 polling booths of the district, the duty of polling staff has been assigned for the Lok Sabha elections and apart from the said staff, reserve staff and other employees have also been appointed if necessary. will be done He said that the said polling staff will play an important role in completing the voting process. He said that the first rehearsal of the polling staff is being conducted on May 5, for which the concerned Assistant Returning Officers have been informed.
Komal Mittal said that the voting for Lok Sabha elections will be held on June 1, 2024 and the counting of votes will take place on June 4, 2024. He said that the last date for filing nomination papers is 14 May 2024 and the last date for withdrawing nomination is 17 May 2024. He said that the district administration will leave no stone unturned to conduct the Lok Sabha elections in a fair and transparent manner.
