Two days Workshop cum CME- organised by Obstetrics and Gynecology department, PGIMER concluded successfully

MARCH, 10th 2024:- The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, PGI, Chandigarh successfully organised a 2-day “Workshop cum CME” under the aegis of FOGSI to mark the Annual Meet of the Obstetrics and Gynecological Society of Northern India on 9th and 10th March. Organising chairperson was dr sc saha and dr minakshi Rohilla was organising secretary of the conference.The first part of the conference was successfully concluded yesterday as a Workshop on cardiovascular and thromboembolic diseases in pregnancy.

MARCH, 10th 2024:- The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, PGI, Chandigarh successfully organised a 2-day “Workshop cum CME” under the aegis of FOGSI to mark the Annual Meet of the Obstetrics and Gynecological Society of Northern India on 9th and 10th March. Organising chairperson was dr sc saha and dr minakshi Rohilla was organising secretary of the conference.The first part of the conference was successfully concluded yesterday as a Workshop on cardiovascular and thromboembolic diseases in pregnancy. Attended by various eminent faculty from different departments, the multidisciplinary approach for management of these patients was discussed in great depth. It was followed by an energetic CME today which focussed on hormonal optimization in different phases of a woman’s life, covering all aspects from precocious puberty till menopausal health. Today's sessions also included relevant topics like prescribing iron in pregnancy which was covered by Dr. J.B. Sharma, professor of Obstetrics, AIIMS, New Delhi. The main attraction of the programme was the keynote address on “Communication Skills” by the former Head of Department, Dr. Vanita Suri. Effective communication wins the physician the confidence and compliance of patients and helps build a healthy doctor–patient relationship and therefore, this topic is of paramount importance to one and all. The conference provided an opportunity to many budding  obstetricians to present their research work on a prestigious forum. Overall, the city beautiful was treated well by an academic extravaganza on women’s health, which was extremely well timed with the occasion of International Women’s Day.
