In the meeting, ADC Una informed that to keep the voter lists error free, continuous revision work is done with the help of representatives of political parties. He said that all types of claims and objections regarding the draft publication of voter lists being published on 27 October 2023 can be submitted between 27 October 2023 and 9 December 2023. For this, a special campaign will be organized on 4, 5, 18 and 19 November 2023. He informed that all the claims and objections received till 9th ??December 2023 will be settled by 26th December 2023. After this, the final publication of voter lists with photos will be done on January 5, 2024.
He said that during this revision, such citizens who have completed 18 years of age or more and if their name is not registered in the voter list, then they can fill their complete details in Form-6 and go to the designated officer appointed at the concerned polling station or at the booth level. Can present before the officer from 27 October 2023 to 9 December 2023. Along with the application, it is necessary to attach the applicant's ordinary residence proof, Aadhaar card, new passport size photograph and a copy of any certificate related to age. Apart from this, claims/objections related to correcting entries in voter list, removing names of ineligible or dead persons or transferring names from one polling center to another in the constituency can also be submitted to the concerned designated officers by filling the prescribed form. Additional Deputy Commissioner said that based on the recommendation of the Election Commission of India, according to the amendments made in the Public Representation Act 1950 and the Electoral Registration Act 1960 by the Ministry of Law and Justice of the Government of India, now instead of the qualifying date of January 1, the date for registration of new voters has been changed. January 1, April 1, July 1 and October 1 (total 4 dates) have been fixed in the year i.e. citizens whose age is 18 years or more on January 1, April 1, July 1 and October 1 can register their names as voters. Will be eligible to get registered in the list.
