Hoshiarpur - Today, on the fifth day of the indefinite march in front of the SSP office, the Rural Labor Union Punjab has laid siege to the house of Aam Aadmi Party leader and Member of Parliament from Hoshiarpur (Reserve) Constituency Dr. Raj Kumar Chabewal on July 1 has announced, and also warned that if the police administration tries to put any obstacle in it, the Bhagwant Maan government and the local administration will be responsible for the consequences.
The state president of the union Tarsem Peter and the state press secretary Kashmir Singh Ghugshore gave information about this and said that Dr. Raj Kumar Chabewal has become a Member of Parliament by taking advantage of Dalit reservation and has reached the arms of the Parliament. Nojwan, who was a victim of the MLA's excesses at village Tahli police station Tanda, has been locked up in jail since May 20. Since that day, Rural Labor Union Punjab has been struggling for the release of Dalit workers and to take action against the MLA who acted excessively after snatching their mobile phones.
On June 13, during a dharna demonstration in front of the SSP office, the senior police officials had promised to release the imprisoned Dalit youths by June 19. Due to the pressure of the arrogant MLA, the police officials broke the promise. Against which Dalit workers under the leadership of Rural Labor Union Punjab have been staging an indefinite protest since June 25. Dalits and laborers are standing on the frontlines in difficult conditions due to the summer of fury. The self-proclaimed Dalit-friendly Member of Parliament did not even open his mouth on the issue of Dalits in jail belonging to village Tahli of Chabewal.
He said that along with Chabewal, Bhagwant Singh Maan government and administration are sitting with their backs towards Dalit workers. Due to which a lot of anger is being put in the minds of Dalit workers. Today, the protestors were addressed on the front by the state leader of Rural Labor Union Punjab Kamaljit Sanawan, Kiranpreet Kaur, Sukhwinder Singh of Land Struggle Committee and District President of Democratic Teachers Front Master Sukhdev Dansiwal etc.
The union has appealed to justice-loving people and organizations to make the siege of the house of Aam Aadmi Party leader and Member of Parliament Dr. Raj Kumar Chabewal successful on July 1.
