Hyderabad, July 4 - The death toll in the blast at the Sigachi Industries pharma plant in Sangareddy district has risen to 39. On Friday, Superintendent of Police (SP) Paritosh Pankaj said that another person died while undergoing treatment at a hospital.
He said that the deceased person had sustained serious injuries in the accident. Apart from this, 22 people were undergoing treatment in hospitals till Friday morning.
An official statement on Thursday said that 143 people were working in the plant at the time of the accident and 61 of them were safe. The statement said that 12 employees were discharged from hospitals after recovery, while nine people were still missing.
