Lahore, May 17 - The Pakistan government has assured to rebuild the headquarters and mosques of banned terror outfit Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) destroyed by India in Muridke. The Pakistan Markaz Muslim League (PMML) claimed this on Saturday. The PMML is the political wing of Jamaat-ud-Dawa and is affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba. During 'Operation Sindhur', the Indian Army had on May 7 attacked 9 terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), including the Jaish-e-Mohammed stronghold of Bahawalpur and the LeT base in Muridke.
Pakistan had claimed that India had targeted a mosque and an educational complex in Muridke, about 40 km from Lahore. It was claimed that three JuD activists were killed in the attack and a controversy arose over the presence of Pakistani army, police and other officers in their funeral. PMML President Khalid Masood Sindhu said in a statement, “The government has announced the reconstruction of the mosques destroyed in the Indian attack.” Sindhu said that by retaliating against India, Pakistan has sent a message that the country knows how to protect its territory. He said that the nation will never forget its martyrs and every activist of the organization stands firm at all times to protect the country. It is noteworthy that while addressing the soldiers at the Air Force station in Bhuj, Gujarat, Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh had said that Pakistan has started trying to rebuild the destroyed terror camps.
He had said that the Pakistan government has announced financial assistance for the reconstruction of the destroyed terror camps of Lashkar in Muridke and Jaish in Bahawalpur and that the one billion dollars received from the International Monetary Fund will be used to rebuild the terror infrastructure. Meanwhile, former Jamaat-e-Islami chief Siraj-ul-Haq visited Jama Masjid Umm al-Qura in Muridke and condemned the Indian attack.
