She used to bandage their wounds along with other fellow nurses. She used to arrange food and drink. She used to identify the injured in the dark of night with a lamp and help them. Along with doing cleaning work, she also used to study statistics. She is also called Lady with a Lamp. She was born on 12 May 1820 and breathed her last on 13 August 1910 in Britain. She also opened schools for the training of nurses in 1860 and also trained women as nurses.
We should salute the profession of nurses. Today, ignorant people often attack nurses and make indecent comments, which should be stopped. Only awareness among people about the profession of nursing and the use of strict laws can encourage nurses. Today, there is a need to increase the number of nurses in terms of population, and increase their salary/allowances keeping in mind their needs. Today, there is a need for cleanliness and hygiene, so that any kind of infection can be prevented.
Because deaths in wars/hospitals increase due to such deficiencies. Therefore, Nightingale used to pay attention to cleanliness and hygiene in hospitals. On this occasion, Mrs. Kamaljit Kaur and Mrs. Jaswinder Kaur shared their views. Manjit Singh, Dinesh Kumar, Baljit Kumar, Komalpreet Kaur, Kamal Rani, Parveen Kumari, patients and their parents were present on this occasion.
