Municipal Corporation’s Finance and Contract Committee Meeting Approves New Works Worth 12 Crore and Work Orders Worth 13 Crore

SAS Nagar, May 12- A meeting of the Mohali Municipal Corporation’s Finance and Contract Committee was held under the leadership of Mayor Amarjit Singh Jeeti Sidhu, in which estimates for new works worth 12 crore rupees were approved, and work orders for works worth 13 crore rupees were issued. The meeting was attended by Senior Deputy Mayor Amrik Singh Somal, Deputy Mayor Kuljit Singh Bedi, members Jasvir Singh Manku and Anuradha Anand, Chief Engineer Naresh Batta, and other officials.

SAS Nagar, May 12- A meeting of the Mohali Municipal Corporation’s Finance and Contract Committee was held under the leadership of Mayor Amarjit Singh Jeeti Sidhu, in which estimates for new works worth 12 crore rupees were approved, and work orders for works worth 13 crore rupees were issued. The meeting was attended by Senior Deputy Mayor Amrik Singh Somal, Deputy Mayor Kuljit Singh Bedi, members Jasvir Singh Manku and Anuradha Anand, Chief Engineer Naresh Batta, and other officials.
Mayor Amarjit Singh Jeeti Sidhu stated that these works primarily include sewerage, footpaths, roads, and other city-related projects. He informed that discussions were also held to protect various areas of Mohali from the impact of rainwater. A survey conducted in this regard revealed that this work will require an expenditure of 200 crore rupees. 
He said a letter is being written to the government to provide this amount. He added that four zones have been created for the desilting of rainwater drainage pipes in Mohali, and tenders for these have been finalized. Additionally, the cleaning of reeds in the N-Choe will begin next week.
He said that Mohali’s first cycle track has been running successfully, and the goal is to connect all residential areas to markets through cycle tracks, which will not only solve parking issues but also improve public health.
He stated that development works in every ward of the city are being carried out as per requirements, and no discrimination is being made in these works. He added that instructions have also been given to officials to ensure no compromise on quality under any circumstances and to periodically review the ongoing development works in their respective areas. He said that if any shortcomings are found, action will be taken against the concerned contractors and officials.
