Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar- On the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Ankurjit Singh, District level Patriotic Awareness Seminar is being organized by Patriotic Volunteers at ITI Ground, Nawanshahr tomorrow, May 10 at 10:00 am.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Rajiv Verma and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Avneet Kaur reviewed the preparations for the seminar during a meeting with the concerned officials today. They appealed to the volunteers of government, semi-government and social service organizations to participate in the seminar in large numbers.
District Sports Officer Vandana Chauhan, who has been appointed as the nodal officer for this special seminar, informed that the main objective of the seminar is to prepare all the citizens of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district as volunteers in case of emergency in view of the current tense situation. She said that after establishing a network of volunteers in every city, town, locality, the district administration will be able to get direct and concise information without any delay, which will be helpful for taking necessary and appropriate action on the spot.
