Hoshiarpur- Municipal Corporation Mayor Surinder Kumar said that to avoid any untoward incident during the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan, power is switched off at night in view of blackout, due to which the general public has to face the problem of drinking water.
Therefore, for the convenience of the public, the Municipal Corporation has changed the water supply timings. Now, uninterrupted water supply will be provided in the city from 05:00 am to 09:00 am and from 04:00 pm to 08:00 pm.
He appealed to the general public that since the demand for water increases a lot in the summer season, use drinking water sparingly and do not wash the courtyards, stairs and vehicles of their houses with drinking water.
He said that water is a precious gift, so it should not be misused. He said that there are differences between India and Pakistan. Therefore, there may be disruption in water supply in an emergency situation.
Therefore, the citizens should store water in sufficient quantity so that the water supply is not disrupted and they do not have to face any kind of problem. He drew the attention of the citizens that the tube wells will remain operational until there is a blackout.
