Health Department organizes an awareness program dedicated to World Oral Health Day

Hoshiarpur- As per the directions of Civil Surgeon Pawan Kumar Shagotra, an awareness seminar dedicated to World Oral Health Day was organized under the leadership of District Dental Health Officer Dr. Moninder Kaur in collaboration with Principal of Senior Secondary School Railway Mandi Mr. Rajan Arora. MO Dental Dr. Baljit and Dr. Laxmikant, Deputy Mass Media Officer Dr. Tripta Devi, Deputy Mass Media Officer Ramandeep Kaur, School Teachers Ravinder Kumar, Seema Sharma, Saroj Kumari, Ravinder Kaur and Taranpreet Kaur were present in this program.

Addressing the students, Dr. Moninder Kaur said that not taking care of dental hygiene can lead to many types of problems. There are many people who do not know or have less information about the problems caused by not taking care of oral hygiene, while there are also some people who are aware of it but are careless.
 This day is celebrated with the aim of making people aware of oral hygiene and motivating them to adopt the necessary habits to maintain oral health. This year, this day is being celebrated on the theme 'A Happy Mouth, a Happy Body' with the aim of creating awareness about the importance of oral health, its need for physical and mental health.
MO Dental Dr. Baljit Kataria said that taking care of teeth and mouth is the basis of good health. Therefore, we should take special care of our mouth and teeth, we should clean our teeth twice a day. He said that bleeding gums, bad breath, yellow or black teeth, cavities in teeth, feeling cold and hot and pain are common diseases, but if we get them treated on time, we can protect our teeth from serious diseases.
During the seminar, students participated in the poster making competition by making posters to create awareness about maintaining oral hygiene and avoiding dental and oral diseases. The students who secured the first, second and third positions in the competition were honored with prizes and all the participating students were given certificates. On this occasion, toothpaste and toothbrushes were distributed by the department to all the students present.
