Patiala, December 18- 41st Pensioner's Day was celebrated by Punjab Pensioners Welfare Association at Pensioners Home Patiala. This program was chaired by the president of the association, Gurdeep Singh Walia. Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra, MLA of Sanur Constituency and Dalveer Singh UK Vidhan Sabha Constituency Patiala attended as chief guests.
On this occasion, Chairman Jagjit Singh Dua and President Gurdeep Singh Walia and members of the association gave a demand letter to MLA Pathan Majra in the name of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, in which they demanded that pensioners be given arrears of pay commission from 2016. The arrears of DA should be paid and the medical allowance should be increased. MLA Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra while addressing said that the elders are our capital from whom we always get to learn a lot in life and these elders have kept the culture of Punjab in line. Pathan Majra assured that he would soon bring the demands of these elders to the attention of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.
