Corruption * BDPO Block-1 Hoshiarpur blew Rs. 97 lakh 54 thousand 273 from the 14th Finance Commission Contingency during the additional charge of Mahilpur?
Hoshiarpur- Due to the poor management and selfish governance policies of the government, corrupt officials are lining their pockets with connivance, and the panchayat institutions have been hollowed out by corruption and low staff.
Hoshiarpur- Due to the poor management and selfish governance policies of the government, corrupt officials are lining their pockets with connivance, and the panchayat institutions have been hollowed out by corruption and low staff.
Labor Party President Jai Gopal Dhiman strongly condemned the sudden sick leave of the current BDPO in Block Mahilpur and the embezzlement of Rs. 97 lakh 54 thousand 273 from the bank account of the 14th Finance Commission Contingency Fund by taking additional charges and colluding with some office staff, saying that sitting in the lap of the government, this BDPO has fearlessly taken additional charges in different blocks of Hoshiarpur district and embezzled lakhs of rupees with the blessings of the government.
Despite the knowledge of all the MLAs of the district, everyone is silent. Despite the knowledge of the higher officials, no official is ready to take action. On the other hand, the Punjab government is misleading the people by spreading false rumors of zero corruption.
Dhiman informed that the current BDPO Balwinder Pal had gone on leave due to illness on 22-11-2024 and as per the rules, the Deputy Commissioner Hoshiarpur ji with the back number REA-5350-5356 dated 22-11-2024 gave the charge of Mahilpur to the Accountant-in-Charge BDPO Sukhjinder Singh of Block-1 Hoshiarpur and there were orders that during the charge he would withdraw the payment of MNREGA labor and the salary of the office employees.
After that, the current BDPO Balwinder Pal ji rejoined his duty on 09-01-2025. But when the records were checked during the time of Accountant-in-Charge BDPO Sukhjinder Singh, the ground disappeared from under his feet.
They have illegally withdrawn Rs. 97 lakh 54 thousand 273 from the 14th Finance Commission Contingency Account for various purposes, defying the orders of the Deputy Commissioner in a very interesting manner. Similarly, they have flown kites of corruption in Block Hoshiarpur-2, Block Bhunga and Hajipur Block and are flying them in Block 1 Hoshiarpur. But all the MLAs who are crying for honesty are sitting in silence.

Dhiman said that as per the records, there are no bills for many payments and the estimates of those issued in the name of the panchayats have neither been passed by any competent officer nor has the concerned JE known about them. The most surprising thing is that after the existence of the panchayats, this big scam has taken place with the connivance of the administrator Vijay Kumar, panchayat secretary Sandeep Kumar, accountant-in-charge BDPO Sukhjinder Singh and other associates. It is also that not even a single penny has been used with this money.
Dhiman said that when the district authorities did not take any action under political pressure, BDPO Balwinder Pal ji brought this matter to the attention of the Director, Panchayat Development and Panchayat Department, Mohali ji. But due to the roots of the corrupt from the bottom to the top, no action has been taken against the accountant-in-charge BDPO nor has all his records been sealed. He said that this accountant charge BDPO has committed a lot of corruption in Block Bhunga, Block Hajipur and Hoshiarpur Block-2 during additional charges.
Instead of making a fuss about corruption, the Punjab government should immediately suspend this BDPO and seal all the records so that the records cannot be tampered with. It is also ironic that all the Aam Aadmi Party MLAs of the district are sitting silently despite knowing it and Member of Parliament Dr. Raj Kumar is also not taking action against it. Dhiman said that he has also sent the case along with all the collected evidence to the Honorable Chief Secretary, Punjab Government and the Chief Minister, Punjab and demanded that Hoshiarpur be saved from such corrupt officers.
