
Training given to doctors of Aam Aadmi Clinic regarding pregnancy and family planning services being started in Aam Aadmi Clinic by Health Department.
Hoshiarpur- As per the guidelines of Punjab Government and Health Department Punjab, a district level training was given to medical officers of Aam Aadmi Clinic for implementation of pregnancy care and family planning services in Aam Aadmi Clinic under the able guidance of Civil Surgeon Dr. Pawan Kumar Shagotra. Honorable ADC (D) Mr. Nicas Kumar Ji specially participated in this training.

On this occasion, District Vaccination Officer Dr. Seema Garg, District Family Welfare Officer Dr. Ranjit Singh, Senior Medical Officer and Senior Gynecologist Dr. Savita Rana, Gynecologist Dr. Mandeep Kaur, Epidemiologist Dr. Shailesh Kumar, Deputy Mass Media Officer Dr. Tripta Devi, District Program Officer Mr. Mohammad Asif, District Cold Chain Officer Mr. Pradeep Kumar BEE Mr. Amandeep Singh besides medical officers of Aam Aadmi Clinics across the district were present with full attendance.
At the beginning of the training, an online pre-training test was conducted for all the participants. On this occasion, a special message sent by the Honorable Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh Ji was shared with everyone.
Honorable ADC(D) Mr. Nicas Kumar Ji said in his address that the objective of this training is to increase the access to high-quality maternal and child health care services at the grassroots level so that no seriously ill mother or child is deprived of health services and care. The aim of the launch of pregnancy care is to reduce the maternal mortality rate and infant mortality rate of Punjab.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Pawan Kumar Shagotra said that this training will be very beneficial for all medical officers as these services are being started by the Punjab government from 23 June 2025 and within a week all the logistics will reach the Aam Aadmi clinics. This will make the access of these services to the common people even easier.
Dr. Seema Garg said that through this program, early registration of pregnant women will become even easier and high-risk mothers will be identified early and they will be sent to higher institutions for treatment on time. District Family Welfare Officer Dr. Ranjit Singh Oran said that pregnant women coming to the Aam Aadmi clinic and women keeping their families limited will be counseled and told about the permanent and crude methods of family planning.
Dr. Savita Rana said that every woman coming to the clinic will not only be given proper advice on pregnancy, abortion and contraception but will also be referred to a higher institution by an ASHA worker. Dr. Mandeep Kaur shared detailed information about antenatal care and case studies were also discussed by the MOs through role play. At the end of the training, an online post training test was also conducted and feedback was also taken from all the participants in which they appreciated this program being started by the government and showed great enthusiasm. On this occasion, all the participants were honored with certificates.
