Garhshankar June 15- Taking the issue of mining being carried out blindly by the soil mafia in Garhshankar constituency head-on, BJP constituency in-charge Nimisha Mehta said that illegal mining by the soil mafia gang in the area is currently at its peak. "This whole Gorkha business is going on regularly with the alleged connivance of the police, mining and transport department officers.
The BJP leader said that only a few people are running the soil mining and transportation mafia in the constituency by forming a gang. The tractors of these mining mafias do not have number plates anywhere and neither do the drivers have driving licenses.
Every day, hundreds of these tractor-trolleys carrying trolleys loaded with soil pass by the police stations and posts of Garhshankar constituency but the police do not see them.
Nimisha Mehta said that apart from these parties working by forming a gang of soil mafia in Garhshankar, if any common person takes a tractor-trolley and carries soil even from his own land, then the police teams come and surround him and he is fined thousands of rupees.
Nimisha Mehta said that soil is being dug in different places by J. C. B. Up to 10 feet is being done with machines and the mining department is deliberately turning a blind eye. Whereas neither more than two and a half feet can be dug nor can this digging be done with J. C. B. machines. But the mining department itself is openly flouting the law.
Nimisha Mehta said that 5 people have lost their lives in accidents due to this mafia of tractor-trolleys and not even a lice has crept into the ears of the transport department. She said that the people of the villages of Garhshankar are very worried about these trolleys and the roads are being damaged due to these overloaded trolleys.
These trolleys, which run day and night, block the entire road leading to the villages and the common people have to face a lot of trouble because of them. Nimisha Mehta said that all this is happening at the behest of the rulers. He warned the officers that it would be better for them to take this issue seriously.
