Sewermen's demands will be resolved soon - Dr. Ravjot Singh

Hoshiarpur- Punjab Local Bodies Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh today held an important meeting with the officials of Municipal Corporation Hoshiarpur and representatives of Safai Karamchari Union. MLA Brahmshankar Jimpa was also present in this meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the issue of regularization of sanitation workers, especially sewermen, and to take concrete steps towards their solution.

Hoshiarpur- Punjab Local Bodies Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh today held an important meeting with the officials of Municipal Corporation Hoshiarpur and representatives of Safai Karamchari Union. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the issue of regularization of sanitation workers, especially sewermen, and to take concrete steps towards their solution.
Dr. Ravjot Singh assured the representatives of the union that action will be taken soon on the issue of regularization of sewermen. He said that a proposal has been sent by the Municipal Corporation Hoshiarpur to the Local Bodies Department, in which the corporation has taken the responsibility of bearing the expenses of the salary of sewermen.
The minister said that the Punjab government is committed to fulfilling every legitimate demand of sanitation workers. Dr. Ravjot Singh said that sanitation workers play an important role for the society and it is our moral and social duty to ensure their respect and welfare.
He directed the officers to work speedily in this direction so that the employees can get relief as soon as possible. MLA Brahm Shankar Jimpa thanked the Cabinet Minister and said that he was confident that the demands of the sewermen would be resolved soon. He also hoped that the Local Bodies Minister would provide the necessary funds to the Municipal Corporation for the development of Hoshiarpur city.
Mayor Surinder Kumar, Commissioner Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Senior Deputy Mayor Praveen Saini, Deputy Mayor Ranjit Chaudhary, SDM Sanjeev Sharma, District President of Aam Aadmi Party Gurbinder Singh Pabla besides other officers and union representatives were present in the meeting.
