Garhshankar, April 20- The Democratic Teachers' Front, taking strict notice of the police's open beating and lathi-charge of the unemployed teachers selected in the 5994 ETT (backlog) recruitment who were struggling in the village of Education Minister Mr. Harjot Bains, has termed it a shameful act of the 'AAP' government which gave the slogan of the so-called education revolution.
The DTF has also demanded strict action against Punjab Police SHO Danishveer and other police officers who raised their hands on unemployed teachers and to complete the ETT 5994 recruitment.
Talking more about this, DTF State President Vikram Dev Singh, General Secretary Mahendra Kaurianwali and Joint Secretary Mukesh Kumar said that on one hand, the Punjab government has brought a storm of laying the inaugural stone in government schools under the slogan of 'Education Revolution', on the other hand, school education in Punjab is continuously lagging behind in terms of recruitment of teachers in schools and other basic reforms. They further said that the claims of the Chief Minister and the Education Minister of recruiting teachers on a large scale in government schools are far from reality.
In fact, the 5994 recruitment of ETT teachers was also started in the year 2022 and has not been completed yet. In this recruitment, first about 2600 appointment letters were issued by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann himself on 1st April 2025 in a function, but the rest of the process was stopped after only 1200 teachers were present.
Out of these 5994 recruitments, a conspiracy has been made to hang about 3000 ETT backlog posts. When unemployed teachers struggle for the demand of completing the recruitment, they are greeted with police batons and bullying.
