D.A.V. B.Ed. College, Hoshiarpur celebrated Basant Panchami.

Hoshiarpur- D.A.V. College of Education, Hoshiarpur, an institution run under the guidance of D.A.V. College of Education, Hoshiarpur, organized Basant Panchami celebrations by the Cultural Affairs Committee of the college under the leadership of the college Principal Dr. Vidhi Bhalla in the presence of Dr. Anoop Kumar, Chairman, D.A.V. College Management Committee and Mr. R.M. Bhalla, Secretary. The students of B.Ed. and M.Ed. Semester 2 and 4 celebrated the function with great joy and gaiety.

Dr. R.M. Bhalla, Secretary, D.A.V. College Management Committee graced the occasion as Chief Guest and Mr. Sharanjit Singh Saini, Joint Secretary was present as Special Guest.
On the occasion, all the students were dressed in yellow and various inter-house competitions were also organized among the students which included kite flying, flower decoration, dish of the day and best dressed group competitions. In kite flying, Laxmibai House, Tagore House and Mahatma Gandhi House secured first, second and third positions respectively.
In flower decoration competition, Nehru House secured first, Dr. Radhakrishnan House secured second and Rabindranath Tagore House secured third position. In dish of the day competition, Dr. Radhakrishnan House secured first, Swami Dayanand House secured second and Rabindranath Tagore House secured third position. In best dressed group competition, Nehru House secured first, Rabindranath Tagore House secured second and Laxmibai House secured third position.
Dr. Anoop Kumar Ji, Chairman, DAV College Management Committee extended his best wishes to all and said that spring season is considered to be the season of fun, games, dancing, singing and celebrations and may the blessings of Maa Saraswati, the goddess of learning, remain on all the students. Chief Guest Secretary Shri R.M. Bhalla ji blessed the students and made them aware of the history of spring season and praised the students for participating in various competitions and giving excellent performance.
College Principal Dr. Vidhi Bhalla congratulated the winning students and while explaining the importance of spring season, said that in spring season the earth appears yellow with yellow mustard flowers. That is why spring season is called the queen of seasons and said that such events play an effective role in preserving our civilization and culture.
The judges of the competition were Joint Secretary Mr. Sharanjit Singh Saini and Madam Roma Ralhan and Dr. Naresh Kumar and Dr. Harpreet Singh played the role of judges in the kite flying competition.
