Una, January 9- Deputy Project Director of Atam Project Una Santosh Sharma visited the farms of progressive farmers Kulwant Singh and Veena, who are doing farming through natural methods in Ghaluwal and Karmapur of Haroli Assembly. During this, Block Technical Manager (BTM) Ankush Sharma and Assistant Technical Manager (ATM) Davinder Kaur were present with him. He discussed with the farmers the problems related to farming through natural methods and informed them about increasing the yield of crops through the use of organic fertilizers.
At the same time, Virendra Bagga, Project Director of ATMA Project, while giving information about the steps taken to promote natural farming, said that under the Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), 6131 farmers have been trained to do natural farming in Haroli and Una development blocks. Out of these, 5090 farmers are doing natural farming on about 805 hectares of land. Along with this, 1976 farmers have registered under the Indian Natural Farming System in Haroli and Una blocks and they are being given information about natural farming from time to time through training camps.
Apart from this, he said that under the Prakritik Kheti Khushal Kisan Yojana, farmers are given financial help of Rs. 25 thousand for buying a local cow and Rs. 5 thousand for transportation. He said that under the Diploma in Agriculture Extension Services for Input Dealers, input dealers are given a one-year diploma course so that they can become familiar with various aspects of agriculture and provide good services to farmers.
