Garhshankar- To serve humanity, Bachitar Singh Rana, age 90 years, village Rampur Bildon, deceased body, his family members, Okar Singh son Shamsher Singh, grandsons Aku, Paku, daughters Bholi, Raksha, Neelu, Asha and sons in law Karnail Singh, Kirpal Singh, Jaspal Singh donated his body for medical examination to Amritsar Medical College and for research through Corneal Transplant Society Hoshiarpur.
On this occasion, besides dignitaries of the village, relatives and family members, Rotary Eye Back & Corneal Transplant Society (Hoshiarpur), Dr. Tarsem Singh, Chairman of the organization, Dr. Ram Gopal MO, Dr. Charanjit Singh Senior Medical Officer Bildon Aam Aadmi Mohalla Clinic, Dr. Joginder Singh MO Senior Medical Officer Gadhshankar from Civil Hospital Gadhshankar, Dr. Lakhwinder Singh Lucky, Dr. Sambhu and many other body donors of the village were present. Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Dr. Tarsem Singh appealed to the people to donate their eyes as much as possible so that after death, the person can give light to two dark lives. Dr. Lakhwinder Lucky thanked the family for donating Bachitar Singh Rana's body as per his wish and Dr. Charanjit Singh told the people that whoever is suffering from eye disease should contact our organization. We are providing this service free of cost with the help of Dani and the eyeball will be put on the needy person and he said that this village has the highest number of body donors.
The dead body is very important in the medical college and by doing research on it, doctors treat various diseases of people. Bachitar Singh Rana had made a will to donate his body in 2010 so that after his death his body could be sent for medical research.
Today, in the presence of his family and relatives, his body was sent to Amritsar Medical College for medical examination. On this occasion, Polo Ram, Sukhdev Singh Rana, Santosh Rani, Sunil Dutt, Vinod Singh, Jagtar Singh Nambardar, Rulda Singh, Parma Nand Bedi, Prem Nath, Balraj Singh Rana, Dr. Sambhu Rana and local residents were present.
