Former teachers and students also participated in the program organized by this Forensic Science Department, which was established in 1974 and is the second oldest in India and the oldest in North India.

Dean Academic Affairs Prof. Narinder Kaur Multani, while presiding over the program, congratulated the department and appreciated the achievements of the department. She said that the subject of forensic science holds a very special importance in the world today, which helps in bringing out the truth by examining it with the help of scientific facts in the field of justice.
Speaking about the achievements of the department, Head of the department Prof. Mukesh Thakur said that this department, which started from just one room, is now known all over the world for its students and research work. More than 700 research papers written by the researchers and faculty members of the department have been published in international journals. On this occasion, four teachers who have made significant contributions to the department since its inception were specially honored. These honorees included the first head of the department, Prof. PK Chattopadhyay, Prof. RK Garg, Prof. OP Jasuja and Prof. Rakesh Mohan Sharma. A special cultural program was also organized to celebrate the Golden Jubilee, during which various artistic performances were presented by the current and former students of the department.
