Hoshiarpur- On the occasion of marriage of Dharmpreet Kaur daughter of late Avtar Singh, a girl from poor family in village Patti of Chabbewal constituency, Sarpanch Shinderpal gave 11 thousand rupees as shagun amount to her mother Amandeep Kaur.
Sarpanch Shinderpal told that when he became Sarpanch for the first time, he started giving 5100 rupees as shagun amount to those girls who did not have the support of their father. Now when he became Sarpanch again, he assured the villagers that he will increase this amount to 11 thousand rupees.
Fulfilling this promise, he has started it today by giving 11 thousand rupees as shagun amount. On this occasion, Panch Palwinder Singh, Panch Sohan Lal, Jagjit Singh and other villagers and dignitaries were present.
