On the second day, the Aerospace Engineering Department featured two engaging lectures. Sh. Kulinder P. Singh, Senior Scientist at INSA, presented “Making an X-ray Telescope for India's First Observatory in Space.” He shared insights from his journey in developing India’s inaugural space observatory, discussing the technical challenges and innovations in precision optics and thermal management that are essential for space exploration.
Following this, Sh. Vivek Kalotra, Regional Director at CEMILAC, delivered a lecture on “Airworthiness Certification of Military Air Systems & Airborne Stores.” He explained the rigorous certification processes for military aircraft, emphasizing the importance of safety and performance standards and the collaboration required between engineers, regulatory bodies, and the defense sector in adapting to new technologies.
Additionally, the Department of Mathematics hosted Dr. Diksha Malhotra, AI Solution Architect (AVP) at Moneygram International Limited, for a session titled "From Data to Intelligence: Exploring the World of AI and Machine Learning." Dr. Malhotra discussed the transformative potential of AI and Machine Learning in various industries, highlighting applications in Natural Language Processing and the role of Generative AI in automating complex tasks. She also shared her professional experiences with Intelligent Document Processing and blockchain technologies at Moneygram International.
